US-based Apollo Atomics builds compact nuclear reactors that are factory-built, pre-tested and delivered by truck, rather than assembled on site over many years. Its innovation is a far smaller steam generator, developed out of MIT research, which shrinks the whole reactor while keeping the proven design, standard fuel and existing supply chain used by nuclear plants today.
