US-based Chaiz is building the first car warranty extension marketplace in the US. Typically, a car warranty is provided by the manufacturer for 3 years after purchase. A significant portion of the US population lives paycheck to paycheck, meaning that an unexpected car repair bill can be a major financial burden. Traditionally, these extensions are sold by call centres using aggressive tactics, often with a 100% markup on the actual cost. Chaiz’s marketplace allows car owners to compare plans, read reviews, and purchase extended warranties online, de facto saving  customers an average of $1,700 compared to buying through a call centre.
